As we are fans of alliteration, we are going to break up the Environmental Services department into two blogs over the weekend: water and waste.

Today, Let’s Talk about a priceless liquid resource – water. From maintaining hydrants, water mains, water valves and water meters to drawing the water from the Red Deer river, Environmental Services is responsible for all things related to H2O. They ensure a high stand of water quality, so you can quench your thirst knowing that the water provided is safe.

Staff from both the Water Treatment Plant and the Wastewater Treatment plant will be on hand to help you understand not only how the water gets from the Red Deer River to your house, but how it makes its way back to the river. Let’s Talk about the water treatment process, future upgrades to our facilities and water quality.
